H-Series Carbide Billet Saw Systems

Built for Maximum Cutting Power

At AMSAW, carbide sawing isn't just a product—it’s our origin story. In 1969, our founder Willy Goellner revolutionized industrial metal cutting by inventing the carbide saw system. That legacy drives everything we build today.

AMSAW production saw systems are engineered for enabling high-productivity, cost-efficient cutting for steel mills and forging facilities. Configurable for both manual and fully automated operations, these machines are trusted by steel processors and OEMs around the world.

Each system features a robust, modular design with Allen Bradley controls, a single-point control system, and system monitoring—built to maximize uptime and blade life. With a higher hub diameter for improved blade life and a ratio-optimized drive for maximum power, AMSAW delivers the throughput your operation demands with the precision your customers expect.

From simple cuts to fully integrated systems with material handling and measurement, or part scanning, weighing, and marking, AMSAW adapts to your production needs—whether in agriculture, automotive, or beyond.

Carbide saw pioneers since 1969. There’s no substitute for experience.

Baseline Saw System

The AMSAW H-Series Horizontal Slide-Head Saw offers a flexible foundation for both standalone and fully automated industrial cutting applications. Engineered with precision and adaptability in mind, it supports a range of configurations—from a basic, servo-driven sawing unit with programmable cutting cycles to a fully integrated system with automated material feed, positioning, and scrap removal. Its modular design enables manufacturers to tailor each installation to their specific workflow, whether upgrading existing lines or deploying new turnkey solutions. The H-Series excels in environments demanding repeatable accuracy, robust clamping, and scalable automation.

Key Features

  • Servo-driven horizontal slide-head for consistent cutting performance
  • Dual hydraulic fixture for secure material clamping
  • Slide-head and fixture bases for stable, accurate operation
  • PLC control system for programmable and repeatable cutting cycles
  • Integrated hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication for simplified maintenance and operation

In its basic configuration, the system does not include material handling or material positioning components. These features are available as optional AMSAW modules or can be supplied by the customer.

The included PLC control enables an automatic clamp-cut-unclamp cycle, making this saw ideal for use in both manual standablne operations and automated production environments.

Automated Sawing System

The Automated Horizontal Sawing System from AMSAW is engineered for high-throughput operations requiring automatic material handling and precision cutting. This system includes:

  • Basic Horizontal Saw
  • Automated Material Positioning and Removal
  • Powered Entry Conveyor
  • Exit System (powered or non-powered)
  • Exit Conveyor
  • Scrap Dump Conveyor
  • Standard and Custom Material Handling Options

This configuration provides the essential equipment to automatically position material, perform the cut, remove scrap, and transfer finished pieces to the unload station.

A fully automated system requires integrated material handling equipment on both the entry and exit sides of the saw. These components can be included with the system or supplied by the customer, depending on application needs.

Note: Crop/Tail CUT, the bar must be the same diameter on both sides of the blade. The crop or tail side must maintain that diameter for at least 1.2” (30mm) beyond the blade. This may require a crop or tail length longer than 1.2” (30mm) depending on the condition of the bar end.
