Two Solutions. One Purpose: Safety and Control.
Modern manufacturing and automation demand fail-safe holding devices that secure machine positions and protect personnel. AMLOK® Rod Locks & Press Safety solutions offer exactly that security. Our offerings include AMLOK rod lock units for locking cylinder rods in place, as well as SITEMA safety catchers and brakes for critical press and lift applications. In the event of power loss or emergency stop, these devices automatically clamp to prevent any motion – keeping heavy loads from drifting or dropping and ensuring accurate positioning is maintained. Advanced Machine & Engineering (AME) is proud to be the exclusive provider of SITEMA® clamping products in the US, bringing world-class press safety solutions to your facility.
All AMLOK and SITEMA products are backed by in-house service and repair capabilities. Whether it’s routine maintenance or a full rebuild, our team ensures your equipment keeps performing like new.
Empower yourself with the knowledge to spec the right safety or holding solution—and keep your operation running smoothly.
From CAD models and catalogs to safety guides and FAQs, our resource hub gives you the tools to make confident, informed decisions. Need expert input? Our engineers are here to help. Whether you’re selecting a rod lock for a new design or ensuring compliance with safety standards, we’re happy to review your application and recommend the best fit.
When air or hydraulic pressure is lost, AMLOK rod locks engage automatically—clamping the shaft or cylinder rod with mechanical force to prevent movement. These devices are ideal for machine axis holding, load retention during maintenance, or controlling drift in vertically oriented systems.
Unlike rod locks, SITEMA safety devices are designed for personal safety—engaging in the event of pressure loss or failure to catch a falling load. Used in applications where human safety is critical, they provide a mechanical backup to prevent catastrophic motion.
Rod Locks = Position holding and machine control | Safety Devices = Gravity fall arrest and personnel safety
SITEMA safety catchers have been evaluated according to OSHA Directive CPL 02-01-043. OSHA has determined that the SITEMA safety catcher meets all of the requirements of the directive.
