The SCHUNK KONTEC KSX is a 5-axis clamping vise engineered to allow "true" 5-sided machining of workpieces in one setup. It is a force-amplified vise with a special low-profile design that provides optimal access from all sides. Using a quick lever clamping mechanism and an adjustable clamping force up to 40 kN for versatile use on both delicate and sturdy parts. This vise is particularly suited for multi-axis CNCs allowing machining of complex parts without interference.
- Optimized for 5-Axis Machining | KSX’s tall, narrow profile and top-mounted spindle prevent the jaws or vise body from obstructing cutting tool path, allowing workpieces to be accessed from five sides with minimal collision risk
- Quick-Change Lever Operation | A lever-actuated clamping system that locks parts within seconds that is continuously adjustable—from gentle clamping of thin aluminum to very high force clamping of steel blocks without tools or fatigue
- High Clamping Force & Pull-Down | The patented power-amplification mechanism (dual-stroke system) that achieves extremely high pull-down forces for vibration-resistant clamping holds with no jaw lift, ensuring precision and surface quality
- Modular & Expandable | An extendable clamping range for various workpiece lengths and, if needed, the clamping range can be increased with optional extensions
- Zero-Point Compatibility | VERO-S mounting interfaces allow the KSX to be used with SCHUNK quick-change pallet systems; swap between fixtures in seconds, or combine multiple KSX vises on a tombstone
